Pole Addiction is new to blogging!

Ok so we are new at this. Kari and I will be attempting to figure out what people blog about and why others read it. I think we are going to use this blog for two specific items.
Why we love pole dancing!
Why you should love pole dancing!
So if we are blogging incorrectly let us know. If you want us to write about something specific let us know. We love input so please help us be better at what we do. That is share information about pole dancing!

The Beginning

Late one evening watching The Best Damn Sports Show I saw Tom Arnold being taught how to Pole Dance by Crunch instructors. I had never seen anything like this accept in strip clubs. These were fitness instructors from Crunch in California showing a new type of fitness program. It was maybe 30 seconds of the entire show but it made me jump out of my bed and head to the computer to see what this was all about. I couldn't find anything. I searched for days and came across a company out of British Columbia selling a Home Based Pole Dancing business for $1400 called A Pole Lot of Fun. I will talk more about them later.

I didn't think twice I picked up the phone called the company gave some chick named Jan my credit card number and hung up the phone. What the hell was I thinking. I look back now and just laugh expecially in todays economy.

I waited for weeks and got a little nervous but then it arrived, my pole, my manual and a DVD showing 8 very basic moves and an extremely pissed off husband who thought I had completely lost my mind. (He is now my X-husband, so guess who won that arguement - TMI)

I called my best friend and her and I started our Pole Dancing adventure in my basement with a bottle of red wine. That is how Pole Addiction was born.

With the help of Fawnia Monday and KT at Vertical Dance Kari and I spent months learning and developing our class structure and moves that could be learned by any woman no matter what her age and stature.

Today we teach the same class we started in 2005 and have added a few different classes, instructors and our studio but the concept is still the same.

Thousands of women have taken our classes in Metro Detroit and hundreds of women around the world are teaching our classes. We love you all and hope everyone continues to grow this awesome form of exercise. Thank you Fawnia and Jan - The real pioneers of pole dancing!
